Thanks Doug!!
I remember it being fun to play- probably because it’s in our favorite key!

StevenParticipantTop Gun,
Thanks for the compliment! I was definitely going for a bit of an 80’s vibe!
“This whole Metal Method community on here is really just a bunch of lovers of guitar music of all kinds.”
I’m happily finally starting to understand this :).
“I’ll keep posting stuff that I’m attempting to play regardless of what style it is and I hope you do the same.”
It’s a deal!
To be honest, my end goal isn’t even metal! I’m actually really interested in Jazz. However, I’ve always been really impressed with the technique and speed of metal guitarists. I also appreciate some of the cleaner solo tones that metal guitarists get. I’d love to be able to do stuff like this with ease: https://youtu.be/9hv_Nm-SlJ8?t=3m42s

StevenParticipantThanks Jezzy!
StevenParticipantRick,
This is awesome! I love how well you pull off those harmonics :D.
I can’t wait to get to Stage 5!

I hope the new forum attracts more members! I’d love to see more talk & info regarding Metal Method.
StevenParticipantmetalj,
I typically use an SM-57 in conjunction with an AKG-414.
The 57 will be on the amp and the 414 is usually set up a few feet back and set to omni. The 414 usually sounds pretty good on its own so perhaps a condenser set up a few feet back might be a good alternative if you have the space.
I did a search on YouTube and came up with this:
Although you can’t tell which is most accurate considering you haven’t heard the riff coming out of the amp in person you can definitely consider how things sound in relation to an SM57.
