    Mercyful Fate, I like the Band yeah their not bad.

  Interesting timing when you posted this link to Mercyful Fate. Just yesterday I went there to wikipedia to find out who that band was myself ironically, independent of and before reading your thread here and discovered those guitarists you mentioned whose origins are from the early 80’s were from Mercyful Fate. I am really out of the loop of knowledge with death/doom/dark metal bands. However reading an article and what lead me there was seeing what influences some famous metal guitarists mention. So yesterday I was reading an article written where Kerry King was interviewed he cited the song “Melissa” and the intro guitar solo as one of his favorites. I really liked that intro 0:19-1.00, did you ever transcribe it?

  No, I didn’t transcribe that one but I did transcribe plenty of great riffs by these guys!
