      Summer motorcycle ride anyone?

“Cruising” (Happy rock song Demo Part 2/3).

I like how this song turned out because I accomplished my goal of writing two modulations without it sounding wrong. (I think.)
I still need to add something in the bridge part.

Does it sound happy without it being annoying? I hope so.

i swear the intro melody sounds like it was about to play the intro melody to “ain’t even done with the night” by john mellencamp but stops just short of completing it. kinda weird since i was just thinking about learning that tune.
as for what it “sounds” like to me.
it sounds nostalgic – which to me is always a mix of happy and sad. not sad in the traditional sense. you know like a happy memory – but it’s a memory of good times gone. maybe because i instantly thought of a classic tune.
one thing to note is vocals and real instruments played by humans can add excitement computer generated instruments just can’t.
in all it sounds pretty good.
would like to hear it complete.

rock and roll ain't pretty; that's why they picked us to play it.

Wow, yeah! That’s the feeling I had when I wrote it, kind of nostalgic thinking back to my fun motorcycle rides. 😁 I put in a couple notes and chords that made it sound not perfectly harmonious. Also a big part of it is that I didn’t start on the 1 chord.

I don’t know what I will do about recording real vocals. I try to sing thru it and, well.. lol. Ok I just played the Mellencamp song, I don’t recognize it but it does have a very similar song vibe. Maybe I can take Mellencamp’s vocal tone to try on my song. That’s a good tip.

For one of my other songs, I’m getting a studio drummer to record real drums. Maybe I can get this one recorded in the future. Trying to work towards one or two real recorded tracks. Then I can distribute them on cassette, lol total nostalgia.
