It’s July, school’s out. Do you remember this being released?

This was waaaay before my time so later when I heard Alice Cooper, it sounded dated and I was never into theatrical makeup stage show rock bands which also seemed dated to me. Though I guess that when this came out it must have been like the devil himself was appearing on stage to the mainstream world.. even though it had a pop song format the distortion, gritty vocals and visuals drive it over the top. Or was it just considered a theatre fantasy stage show like Bowie’s Ziggy and not demonic?

oh yeah krokus was definitely devil’s music in 1986, a bad influence on children, encourages delinquent behavior!

My brother saw Alice Cooper on the “Billion Dollar Babies” tour and he said the show was terrific–over the top and theatrical. My favorite album from that period is “Killer”

I was a huge Alice Cooper fan and saw the Killer concert. I was playing in my first band at the time. We performed “Eighteen” and “Under My Wheels”. Probably a couple of other tunes. By the time “School’s Out” rolled around I was beginning to lose interest in the band. The songs were too commercial and somewhat silly. “I Want to Be Elected” was no “Ballad of Dwight”.

Saw Alice a few years ago with Motley Crue on their final tour. In ’72 I was in elementary school and I didn’t discover the Devils Music till later.

I remember doing “Eighteen” and “Be My Lover” in a couple of the bands I was in right after high school. A couple of friends of mine were in a band that covered “Halo of Flies” (they did a pretty good job with it as I recall). I agree that Alice Cooper got a bit too commercial in the later recordings but as long as the girls were dancing to the songs, we played them.

No, I was a mere 4 months old at that time.

IIRC I checked out Alice Cooper’s music when Kane Roberts was in the band, Raise Your Fist And Yell (1987).

I was a teenager, the cassette I bought from the first licorice pizza store, before they expanded. I liked the entire album. Public Animal number 9. Blue turk too, crazy lyrics. Schools out was a playlist Staple on Am radio too. Same time basically Machine Head came out, the best Zep stuff, etc. great time to be growing up. Glen Buxtons riff was cool. Then a few years and Bob Ezrin and Welcome to my nightmare, that destroyed my interest abd was the end for my interest. He did the same bland thing for Kiss Destoyer. Not an Ezrin fan.

Schools out had decent tunes, I liked most the album, wore the cassette out.

It is dated, the production sucked on his early studio albums. Prior to Kiss he was the master of a Rock show as entertainment. Not a Grateful dead boring jam.
