If you like Rick Beato, this might be something fun. Way back maybe 2 years ago, when talking about the 80s scene, he mentioned Doug and Metal Method (I forget which exact Beato video though). Recently it seems Beato is doing lots more cameo-style or crossover videos to spread rock n roll guitar to the world. So the next time a Beato live stream or new video drops, how about writing some comments on the video that he should get Doug Marks from Metal Method onto his channel for a guest spot, or a collab or interview video. If a handful of Metal Method fans give Beato a little push, there’s a cool chance it could happen. (Just don’t tell Doug, cause it’s a secret lol)

You might try and locate the episode to see the context for posting in that specific video to start off with. I don’t log in ever, so never comment on any but… would do so in this case.

Also if any past or future video has techniques or ideas covered in the lessons which is application specific would help. If you think about it, random comments unrelated would get the feeling of being phony. I was looking closely at another guitar channel of a guy who does many amateur videos that is relatively unknown, (unlike MM which is well known) and this guys channel had many “canned” b.s. like comments and appeared to seem phony. As you are aware people can pay for this service on Fiverr.

No need to be so pessimistic. Dropping a couple honest comments on his new or live videos would be fine, it would be great for metal fans to have Doug as an appearance on Beato’s channel. Especially as a comment suggestion on a live stream. Many youtubers and even pro musicians respond to youtube comments these days, it is how they connect with us fans. I doubt I can find the original beato video where he brings it up, it was one of his hour-long hangouts, and there are many dozen Beato videos like that, or it might have been in one of his “Guitar 1980-1989 Rock Guitar Heroes” type videos.

Look at what opened up for Steve-T when his youtube fans commented about him on Dragonforce’s videos. That was great. It’s not about money because there is no money in rock music anymore. It is purely about spreading guitar.
