Musically I love it, lyrically and vocally not so much… but then I’ve never written a song so I can give you nothing but thumbs up!!!

I’m not much of a singer even though I’ve been doing it for a while. I like the lyrics though.

Cool tune Jay. I find writing lyrics a difficult task and I think you did a pretty decent job with them on this one. I think the vocal style suits the song pretty good, deep and aggressive. I especially like the vocal part right before the chorus. And I often catch myself singing the chorus part in my head at random times, its catchy.

I have a counter offer, I'll go nowhere and talk to no-one.

Yeah this is the only song that came together smoothly. I just worked on it nonstop for a couple of days and never got stuck. Usually when I write I feel like I’m going against the current which makes me do research instead of creating. Sometimes you get in a zone I don’t know.

Good job Jay. I got out of my seat and started dancing. And I don’t even dance. So, yeah, good job.

Cool song. I bet if you drop the vocals way back it will sound like Jesus Lizard Goat.

Cool stuff J. You’ve got a real good sense for rhythm guitar that was good and catchy sounding.

Pretty good basic rock tune. The sound is a bit muddy and noisy, the lyrics aren’t quite up there with “Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” but as you said, you’re just learning. Keep it up.

Thank you for your honest view of my work. The reason it sounds muddy is in part because it went from digital to cassette then through a crappy usb interface then to audacity. I can’t promise my future stuff will sound better but i will continue to write music.

Songwriting is just like playing. You can only get better by doing it. There’s a lot of potential there.

      It is catchy!

I perhaps should have made more clear that there is nothing wrong with “pretty good, basic rock tune.”

That is pretty good Jay. Good sense of rhythm and nice drum track. Did you tune down for that? Guitar sounded good, and overall I enjoyed it. Keep it up!

It was in standard tuning. Its in E minor i think. Drums are a loop except the intro. Thanks for checking it out.

One thing I really like about this song after listening to it again is where you drop some smack comment after singing the verse.  Adds flavor and attitude beyond the normal rock song.  Kind of reminds me of Axl Rose Use-your-Illusion era.   I think Jezzy said the same thing if I understood his comment up there too.  Maybe these parts would sound even better if it were overdubbed (is that the right term?).

Dude i did the vocals all in one take. It wasn’t easy for me. Once i learn drums i’m going to re record it.
