Glad to see lots of females playing high level guitar. I had lots of girls learning when I taught school, some went on to play a lot.

I’ve checked some of the ones on YouTube and they are way more talented than I ever will be. Seems to be lots of Canadian or French and maybe Italian girls on there.

I like to play around with Whitesnake songs, and Halestorm has a decent cover of Still of the Night. The lead singer plays guitar, but not lead on that song anyway.

Besides Orianthi, Alice Cooper has one now I see.

Yeah. It’s good to see females expressing themselves through music. And you’re right, there are some fantastic female players. As far as the last album John Sykes played on for Whitesnake, there was some sensational playing on that record. And even though it’s not hard to learn the notes, John is very hard to imitate for some reason. He was definitely one of the underrated guys from the 80s.

Merel Bechtold also deserves a mention.

Her own band is Purest of Pain which is a bit of a death metal band. She also plays for Mayan which is more symphonic and complex and she plays for Delain which is quite mainstream. She also does live shows for the Gentle Storm and probably for a couple of other metal acts too.

Since I own a number of the MM videos Sarah has made, I can tell you that she can more than just “handle it”. I absolutely LOVE the sound of Sarah’s Mosers (IIRC, she also has a red one) and it would be great to hear one of them cranked through a great amp like a Marshall or Engl.

yes good call. i was looking at her ‘equipboard’ page. also from one of her interviews, ” The P-Bass pickup just sounds good and I’m in open G. ” that’s the 4 string cigarbox guitar she is playing in that song. so I guess it gets even more fattttness that way. around the solo it seems like she’s stomping the pog too.

i want to hook that tone up to my shoes. so it can follow me everywhere lol
