Doug, that was fun… definitely worth doing again.
By the way, I remember the smaller ads in Circus and Hit Parader but it was that full page one that got me to buy the lesson 8 on cassette so I could learn to play like Randy Rhoads.
I’d love to hear about the Carvin endorsement saga. I remember the end of the VHS tapes where you’d talk about working on a Carvin deal.
Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon.

SB, evidently facebook or MAB has allowed the interview to be watched without a facebook account.
Really nice talk and enjoyed it, hope that they do it again even if remotely from 2 locations. Good life advice too for young people, like the “Don’t be bitter”. I have seen that too in the past with my own business, how a few people are jealous of your success. It’s why you hold your cards close and kinda the way it is with those jealous people unwilling to quit their job and “risk it all” on being self employed as an entrepreneur. The part about win-win and mutual appreciation is so crucial for long term business relationships too like they have had for years. I have met many, many resellers and vendors in my years who were myopic and uni-directional. Very few last that many years. So as far as money flow, IME more people do not appreciate sales and marketing talent than do get it. Doug has been a success at this for years and so it’s great and self evident. It’s a great example that they set and talked about business, especially not being afraid to say they are “capitalists”, especially when recently all the crazy news keeps creeping in about socialism.

Great thanks, I just unblocked facebook long enough to check it out. Fun video!
Those old ads are so classic, one thing for sure, Doug has a lock on the metal “vibe.”
I’ve always said the metal method lessons are ridiculously low price for the quality, and especially compared to any other lessons which would cost hundreds of $$ for a single month (local price is like $160/mo for 4 weeks of lessons) and those lessons never include high quality tab or anything.MAB’s jazz lesson is on my list to pick up, maybe for this upcoming holidays as a present to myself 😀
Really if there’s a followup.. ya gotta explain the story behind jim’s ‘sock’ !

Doug, maybe try looking into skillshare dot com? It seems to be the new popular for-pay high quality lesson site. I dont know anything about their terms though.
