I seem to need things to get me motivated to play my guitar these days… so I bought myself a Beatbuddy Mini and a clip to mount my phone on my headstock for filming my practice sessions…
Just thought I’d share a couple pictures and a link for anyone who might want to do something similar…

I like my drum pedal as well, it really makes playing thru a setlist much more exciting and fluid.. I wrote up a cheat sheet for which pattern and tempo for which song, then I can just go thru them in the list. Well, I dont hit the pedal for song sections or anything.. it’s more like a drumset metronome, still fun. The more disciplined thing I did was, go thru my setlist that way, while recording the drum pedal into a DAW, after lots of playing with the drum pedal to see what works best. Then when I do more disciplined “try to record perfectly then review then repeat perfectly” type practice, I dont have to mess with the pedal, the drum track is already in the DAW. Different setups for different moods..
The main drawback of the drum pedal so far for me is, it needs a lot of juice (batteries wont do) and since it’s a pedal, it’s hard to change the tempo/drum controls without bending down vs meanwhile it’s also tough to raise the pedal up to hand height (its heavy and has no mount abilities).
I'm an intermediate student of Metal Method. I play seitannic heavy metal. All Kale Seitan! ♯ ♮ ♭ ø ° Δ ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬
And on the Seventh Day, Mustaine said: ∇ ⨯ E = - ∂B / ∂t ; and there was Thrash; and it had a ♭3; and it was good. -

I practice in front of my computer so it’s simpler to use drums in the DAW (Addictive Drums and Superior Drummer). 🙂

I added another new toy… the TC Electronics WireTap. Now I can record the audio of what I am playing and keep a record of improvements. Combining it with the Ditto Looper, I am thinking about trying to write my own song… BIG step for a bedroom guitarist who just dabbles… My 8-year-old daughter LOVES to sing and keeps writing lyrics, so I thought I might work up accompaniments for her, but I tend to forget what I played a day or two later!
