      my new toy arrived today.
just 13 days from placing order to delivery from germany to ohio, usa.
      everything arrived intact.
      no issues with order.
the color seemed a little more orangey than lemon but when i compared it to the website picture it’s pretty close.
fretboard is a little dry. but nothing a little conditioning oil won’t take care of.
mahogany body, a flamed maple top, set maple neck and rosewood fretboard – a very well built guitar.
haven’t plugged in yet. didn’t have time before leqving for work. but i’m pretty sure the wilkinson pick-ups will sound great. humbuckers with a coil tap that splits them into single coils. ought to be great for getting different sounds for different styles. i’ll give it a good test drive tomorrow.

no picture at this time but thomann’s hardshell case is great too.
can’t beat it for less than $50.

guitar, hardshell case, a gig bag for another guitar i already own, the vox wah, the marshall pedal, a d’addario headstock tuner, a planet waves guitar strap, plus shipping totalled $370. not bad at all.

Now we know the real reason fender is complaining about flat revenue growth 😀

Yea also very interested in hearing some sound clips and with the pedal too. Break it in a bit and let’s hear some rock 😀
Did you want it as a 2nd guitar for band performance like alternate tuning or something, or got it just because? Its amazing if you use it for some good live songs. Totally prove it worthy.

        got it just because.
but i do like to have multiple guitars for gigging.
broken string – just grab another guitar and go.
years ago i used to do the different tunings on each guitar.
at one point i had four for gigs.
        two in standard tuning.
        one a half step down.
        and one in drop D.
now we just do everything in standard tuning.
if a song is a half step down the singer has to learn to sing a half step higher.
and if we do anything in drop D that can be retuned rather quickly.
but that’s not really what we’re doing.
i’ll have to go look at the set list i started and see what we’ve added and update it.
but this weekend i plan to really dig into the new toys.
i will likely have some sort of recording to post.

I’m watching this video of the current youtuber guitar reviewer online personality people (while practicing pentatonic scale naturally). Apparently just this past week there was a guitar-nerd-vlogger get together with industry involved. they mentioned Harley Benton inviting them to play the guitars they brought and all the guitar vlogger guys were like: “WOW”.. could not believe the quality for the price, one of the guys says he bought one now too.

“Those guitars blew my mind” Philip McKnight says:

Guitcon Live Summit with Pixxy, Robert Baker, Henning, and more

They are saying: “149 euros??! WOW, NO WAY, WHAAT?”

there are a lot of good quality inexpensive guitars nowadays.
no need to feel like you need a name brand like gibson, fender or prs on the headstock.
besides harley benton i also have a oscar schmidt that is pretty good too. xaviere, vintage and slick brands are a few that i’ve seen good reviews of.
of course we have a resident hondo aficionado (if you like bolt on necks).
even replacement pick-ups ——- there are plenty of good quality inexpensive options that you don’t need duncans or dimarzios.
you have iron gear (which i bought and love); gfs; tonerider and slick.
