Okay, I have resolved to have one of these babies by Christmas. And of course I’ll mod the heck out of it as usual. I’m thinking of doing a complete Hondo restoration project. Next week I’m ordering a Hondo Les Paul copy which is gonna get two GFS Cruchy Pat Humbuckers and a third Humbucker between the two (I’ve always LOVED the look of those three crowded humbucker Les Pauls!) So with the two stock humbuckers I yanked off the RR I restored and the two I’ll yank off the Les Paul that will make a total of four to choose from on the Death Dagger. Hondo stock pickups were actually pretty good, it was the crappy dime a dozen electronics components, lack of shielding, and dime store hardware that was sometimes used that took away from what was otherwise on a basic level a very well built guitar. Of course I’ll pull them apart, clean em and shine them up (been watching several YTB vids on that) so they’ll look good. I’ll probably add another HB at the bridge and spilt both so I can get more tones out of them.

Cheap Guitars (with some exceptions) play just about as good as expensive ones. It's your ability combined with an awesome amp that makes the difference.

These things are awesome. I’ve never played a Death Dagger. I have played a Metal Master though which is a slightly less exotic model than this. Nice guitar even for a single coil. The Death Dagger was an H1 model which put it up there with the Formula I’s and the All Stars which were the Hondo top lines all made in Japan. There were all kinds of stories of band members getting poked with em.
