whoa. and to think the past couple weeks I have been looking into the VLD1 (Carvin’s Vai pedal-tube-amp).. Maybe this was why kiesel split, so they could write bad debt on the other books and ditch it (typical biz move)..

Umm, I am not moderating, no. I havent moderated anything since mid summer. I think it would affect how the spam filters are doing their thing, if I touched stuff.

I am surprised Carvin has been around this long.  I many guitars and basses, like 7 I think over the years and had a bass 2 15 reflex cab and amp from 1975’, they had the escondido factory direct only store, where I bought stuff years back. Never retail until I guess the 90’s.

I read the article, and surprised they dont get their operations out of California, to a more business friendly state.  The comments were open ended.  Are guitar sales down? I can only assume that. Maybe they will sell the goodwill off and brand, to someone else.  I am surprised why businesses even stay in Calif at all, with labor costs, housing, increased taxes and all the entitled legal system and anti business lawmaking wackos.

Nice equipment but like lots of other stuff – way overpriced. Most of the music business in general is hurting because of online sellers and aftermarket gear on places like Ebay and Reverb.com. I mean why would I pay 2500 bucks for a brand new amplifier when I can get on Ebay and buy a Fender Dual Showman Stack thats in pretty good shape for a grand? Lots of people are buying up classic guitars and restoring them (like me) and from what I’ve heard most of the big guitar makers’ business is down.

Cheap Guitars (with some exceptions) play just about as good as expensive ones. It's your ability combined with an awesome amp that makes the difference.

Such nostalgia with these old iconic Vai carvin ads.
Hey wait a minute, if Carvin had endorsed Doug and Metal Method back in the 80s, they would have sold guitars to millions of guitar students who saw Doug playing a Carvin guitar and suggesting they should get one too, and maybe Carvin would have survived, so, there ya go. ?

Now here is the gear question. If I get the Batio overdrive signature guitar pedal, and plug it into a Carvin Steve Vai amp, will the pedal stomp all over the amp? Ok that was supposed to be a guitar nerd joke.

The previous 20% discount is now 10% discount and most items are out. I had been looking at the new steve vai tube pedal but the discount code didnt work for it, so at $499 new it was a bit too rich for me to consider currently.

Carvin Audio – Factory Closing – Some Products Remaining …

Its a bit confusing because this video claims that Carvin will continue to sell pedals, and release new ones, just not in the old HQ.. I guess they will move overseas.. but I’m not sure why they would liquidate everything in california first. anyway I guess I’ll just have to wait to get ahold of that tube pedal. Even the small size of their tiny lunchbox newer tube head is a behemoth in comparison to the awesome tube pedal, considering it’s the identical tube preamp.
